About 250 km (155 mi) north of Toronto, during the summer months visitors to the town enjoy their aquatic vacation getaway by taking to the lake for some swimming or boating, or by traversing to Algonquin Provincial Park, northeast of town. Here travellers will find Ragged Falls, a sharp and dramatic drop of the Oxtongue river accessible by car, with parking available and marked hiking areas to explore. During the winter months, snowmobiling, cross country skiing and snowshoeing are popular pastimes.
