Dwight, ON at a Glance
On the shores of the Lake of Bays in Ontario, Dwight is in an excellent location
for travellers looking to head out on the water and try their hand at some fishing.
About 250 km (155 mi) north of Toronto,
during the summer months visitors to the town enjoy their aquatic vacation getaway
by taking to the lake for some swimming or boating,
or by traversing to Algonquin
Provincial Park, northeast of town. Here travellers will find Ragged
Falls, a sharp and dramatic drop of the Oxtongue river accessible by car,
with parking available and marked hiking areas to explore. During the winter
months, snowmobiling, cross country skiing and snowshoeing are popular pastimes.
Visitors can also visit the Oxtongue
Craft Cabin and Gallery for a show of the wares of local artisans. Travellers
staying here will not find it difficult to find a room to stay in, and with
so much wonderful nature viewing in the area, they won't be at a loss for things
to do and new places to discover.
